Can You Create a Floor Plan Without Visiting the Property?

A common question — especially for landlords with tenanted properties, agents covering a wide area, or owners selling from a distance — is whether a floor plan can be made without anyone visiting. The short answer is yes.

How a remote floor plan works

A floor plan does not require a professional to attend the property. It requires two things:

1. A sketch of the layout — how the rooms fit together.
2. The measurements — wall lengths, doors, windows and so on.

If you (or your tenant, agent or photographer) can capture those, the plan can be drawn entirely remotely. You upload the sketch and measurements, and our team redraws them into a clean, professional plan.

When remote floor plans are ideal

• Tenanted properties — measure during a routine inspection rather than booking a separate survey that disturbs tenants.
• Remote or rural properties — no travel cost or waiting for a surveyor to be available.
• Selling from a distance — an owner or a friend measures, you handle the rest online.
• Photographers on site — capture the sketch during the shoot you are already doing.

What affects the accuracy

Because there is no separate measured survey, the accuracy of a remote plan depends entirely on whoever measures the property. This is worth being honest about:

• Careful measuring with a tape or laser, cross-checked, gives a plan that closely matches the property.
• Rushed or incomplete measuring produces a plan with errors — not because of the redraw, but because of the input.
